At the Singapore Construction Productivity Week 2016 from 18 to 20 October, Tiong Seng Holdings showcased its prefabricated pre-finished volumetric construction (PPVC) dormitory that it is rolling out for JTC, as well as its prefabricated bathroom unit (PBU).

PPVC and PBU modules are free-standing room modules constructed and completely assembled with finishes for walls, floors and ceilings prior to transportation to the construction site. The new technology can potentially improve manpower and time savings by up to 50%.

“We strive to build on our strengths amidst rising competition by consistently boosting our portfolio of construction technologies and capabilities.”

Tiong Seng

Tiong Seng's success in rolling out PPVC rooms and PBU has reinforced the leading construction player's reputation as an industry leader in the adoption of the Design for Manufacturing and Assembly concept.

The Group's strength in civil engineering has enabled it to lead the industry in market share with a construction order book of S$1.3 billion as at 5 August 2016.

Tiong Seng started adopting prefabricated bathroom unit (PBU) technology in 2006. Today, it is one of Singapore's largest PBU manufacturers. Its 2nd generation Lithe™ PBU is made of ultra-high performance ductile concrete, a material that was introduced to the industry only recently. This advanced construction material allows robust and slim concrete panels to be prefabricated in a productive manner.

Tiong Seng's wholly-owned subsidiary, Jet-Scan, introduced the local construction industry to the revolutionary Inloader Flatliner (produced by Langendorf, an industrial vehicle manufacturer of global renown).

This latest equipment to Tiong Seng's arsenal provides clever logistical solutions for precast panels and other forms of construction materials.

The Langendorf Inloader Flatliner is a clever logistical solution that comprises of a flat that is hydraulically lifted and lowered by a trailer. Large planar panels are loaded upright, saving lifting time and providing a more effective storage solution. Space requirement and maintenance cost are both greatly reduced compared to when the Group used conventional trailers.

Regarding PBU. We are proposing to use pre finished PC wall panel with a total thickness of
90 mm. 70mm pc wall plus allowance of 20 mm for the tile finish. Please confirm if this is acceptable..
