(âAHBâ or âthe Companyâ) - Public Shareholding Spread Requirement Further to the Companyâs announcement on 30 April 2012 on the above subject matter, the Company wish to announce that as at 31 May 2012, the Company has yet to comply with Paragraph 8.02(1) of the Main Market Listing Requirements of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (âBursaâ) in relation to the public shareholding spread requirement. The public shareholding spread of the Company as at 31 May 2012 stood at 16.31%. Bursa has granted AHB an extension of time of 6 months until 30 June 2012 to comply with the public shareholding spread requirement pursuant to Paragraph 8.02(1) of the Listing Requirements. On 11 June 2012, the Company has made an application to Bursa for an further extension of time of 6 months up to 31 December 2012 to comply with the Public Shareholding Spread Requirement which is currently pending Bursaâs approval. I did not go for the AGM. Atlan public spread now is 16% but malaysia requires public spread to be 25%. So right now Berjaya has a stake of around 25%, and the main shareholder has 52.1%. It would be interesting to see what happens when ATLAN has to increase share to meet the requirement of 25% public spread. Would berjaya buy more shares to cross the 50%? No one knows what is the real intention of Berjaya. I dun think they will annouce that they are interested in gaining control of Atlan or duty free now right? They will say they are "passive" investor. And Berjaya TOTO is going to list in SGX. So just wait complies with the requirement of 25% public spread and look at for the share price of ATLAN, whether there are more buying of the shares in bursamalaysia .

divads27: berjaya is a diversified investor, has its fingers in many types of business and I dont it has a plan to delist Duty Free International. In the first pl, its purchase of Atlan shares has no direct bearing on Duty Free.

Right now duty free willing to sell it's ZON land to Berjaya on condition it leases the part of ZON to duty free for 25 years for it's duty free business. So berjaya has to agree in order to get duty free to sell ZON. After that once berjaya decides to redevelop and reinvent ZON, for example to build Disneyland Malaysia, it has to rescind or cancel that contract of lease. So next possible method is to gain control of Atlan and then delist duty free. Just my thinking. Anyway no one knows the real purpose if any, of berjaya Controlling ATLAN means controlling total control of duty free(81%) and no one knows the real intention of Berjaya. If you think about it, Berjaya buys over ZON and at the same time buy stake in ATLAN.. hmm.. something for us to wonder?
