AEM Holdings has made yet another acquisition, this time California-based DB Design Group, for US$3.3 million.

The payment will be through cash of US$2.7 million and issuance of shares in AEM worth US$600,000.

The cash will be satisfied in three stages over the next three years through upfront cash payment of US$1.9 million, a one-year holdback of US$200,000 and a three-year performance earn-out of US$600,000 based on targets and milestones achieved.

DB Design is a world-renowned supplier of automation fixtures, device kits, and other test-related products.

It has over 30 years of experience in delivering turnkey solutions for virtually all major semiconductor test and handling systems.

DB Design has a key team of designers and machinists located in California serving the Silicon Valley customer base.

AEM said the acquisition of a 100% stake provides it with several synergies, including:

[a] DB Design’s specialized capabilities expands AEM’s Serviceable Available Market to include the automation fixture and device kit markets.

[b] DB Design’s customer base presents a synergistic growth opportunity for AEM.


AEM is a global leader offering application specific-intelligent system test and handling solutions for semiconductor and electronics companies serving advanced computing, 5G, and AI markets.

AEM intends to leverage on DB Design’s capabilities to expand its product offerings and customer portfolio in the semiconductor and electronics spaces.
