LIAN BENG Group said its wholly-owned subsidiary, Deenn Engineering Pte Ltd, has secured a main building works contract from FCL Peak Pte. Ltd. worth S$128.8 million.

It covers a proposed condominium development comprising 4 blocks of 15-storey residential flats with 2 basement car park, swimming pools and ancillary facilities at Bedok Reservoir Road known as “Waterfront Isle”.

The contract period shall be 40 months and is expected to commence in July 2011.

A SUBSIDIARY of Chasen Holdings, which specializes in relocation solutions for sophisticated machinery and equipment with complementary logistics, technical and engineering service capabilities,  that it has clinched its first specialist relocation contract worth US$1.25 million (equivalent to S$1.58 million) from a Korean-based major electronics manufacturer.

The relocation solution to be provided by Chasen Hi-Tech covers the packing and moving (involving land and sea transportation) of an OLED (organic light-emitting diode) production line from its Busan, South Korea facility into its plant in Shanwei, Guangdong Province, China.

The project, which commenced at end of May 2011, is expected to be completed before the end of October 2011.

Trek 2000 International Ltd.has filed a complaint with the International Trade Commission (ITC) against eight companies for patent infringement.

Trek requests that the ITC issue an exclusion order that prohibits the importation of the infringing products into the United States and a cease and desist order prohibiting the sales of infringing products in the United States.

Trek has long been a leading designer and manufacturer of universal serial bus (USB) portable storage devices under the Thumbdrive® brand. Trek’s complaint alleges that the 8 companies infringe four Trek patents.

According to ITC procedures, the Complaint is subject to institution within 30 days. Upon institution, the Commission historically seeks to complete investigations within 15 months.

Trek filed complaint -- will they have the financial muscle to take the 8 companies to court if they ignore the complaint?

If they are good boys and stop importing into the US, what happens next? Will Trek sue them for past infringement and try to collect some compensation?
