Following the recent spate of takeovers and privatization of companies, investors must be searching for the next target, elusive though that may be.

A NextInsight reader had a quick list. Click here to read.

The next day, Kim Eng Research delivered its list of candidates, all nine of whom are S-chips.

The Edge Singapore, in its current weekly edition, also took a stab at it with a cover story by senior writer Joan Ng.

Its 13 picks (see image above) are elaborated on in a 3-page story which you can read by buying a copy of the weekly for $3.80 from the newsstands.

What is your pick?

UMS a possible target? I don't think so. I can't imagine the owner , a Viet-born American, selling out. I have met him at some events, and he is a true owner.

Broadway is a likely takeover target. The chairman & substantial shareholder, Mr Wong, is well into his late 60s ( or so ). He could be happy to exit and retire.

I agree -- but am sure all the stocks are under P/B. Portek was like half of book value before takeover offer.

the chart not good enough, should include P/B. if not mistaken Allgreen and Portek trading below their P/B

OKP data in the table is not right. OKP paid 1 cent interim dividend and 4 cents final dividend = 5 divided by 67 stock price = 7.4% yield. Nonetheless, am glad to see OKP being recognised as an attractive takeover target
