Hi Yoketiong, yes, it's over. The competition objective was to see whose stock picks had the highest % gain at the end of 1Q. Our article on the winners was:
READERS' TOP PICKS for 1Q: Who won?
by the way, how have your stock picks done so far?
'HU AN CABLE is proposing a second listing of its shares as TDRs in Taiwan whereby existing shareholders can sell their shares at a higher price than in Singapore.'
Example of a good management which is genuinely thinking in the interest of its shareholders. If dual listing/TDRs fail to bring a stock up to the same value as in the other country, then make force it by making it fungible - allowing shareholders to sell in the country where it's priced higher.
Only then can a dual listing achieve its purpose.
If this works out well, it would be a great example for all undervalued s-chips to follow.
ethan999, good point u made. S-chips should indeed offfer a way for existing minority shareholders to sell to the Taiwan investors. The S-chips can do even better if they don't issue new shares in the 2nd TDR programme -- just give minority shareholders sell to Taiwan.
Wonder how it will work. Will it auto-transfer a percentage of all existing SGX-listed HU AN shares to the 2nd TDR programme? Or must we apply for it?
70 m shares out of 500 existing shares = 14%. So 14% of a shareholder's holding auto-transfer>?
Must apply, in the case of over- subscription, then will be pro-rated depending on demand. Might end up with odd lots. Will send forms when all approvals received... I mean yes it may not ho thro, but it's more likely than not that the 2nd tdr will be approved, wonder why the shares price is still languishing??
