regarding the Arkema deal. Post-transaction, NTA is estimated at S$1.50. Stock is trading at only S$0.54 now.

Disposal gains (Rmb1.9bn) alone are about 125% of SVC’s current market cap of SGD304 m.

My guess is, after Tuesday's EGM the share price of SunVic will be not less than 62 cents -- ie, 5 cents higher than today's 57 cents. :P

...barring an unforeseen / unexpected failure to obtain shareholder approval for the sale of the factory to Arkema.

If you can stomach the risks of S-chips, then SunVic could be a stock to add to your holding. Presumably the EGM resolutions have all been passed for Arkema to buy factory and pour cash into SunVic! Today already +2 cents to reach 58.5 cents.

A cheap S-chip. SunVic (49.5 cents) has a NTA of about S$1.10 after taking into account the RMB1.5 billion cash it received from Arkema.

Agree that this is a reasonably good S-chip but not in the eyes of Singapore investors as reflected by the share prices over the past two years!
