In July, Global Yellow Pages made some hype and noise about wanting to buy more Yamada shares.

I was wrong in an earlier post. After checking, I found out that GYP did buy Yamada in August. It was 723,000 shares at 24.7 cents . Phew!

Chen Qiuhai, the CEO/Chairman, bought 241,000 shares for 22.8 cents a share. I think it's the first time he has bought in the open market. Owns 39.27% stake in Yamada. A significant stake like that is an assuring fact to investors that he will drive the business as far as he can.

Also positive this quarter is Global Yellow Pages with 723,000 shares purchased on Aug 5 at 24.7 cents each, which boosted its direct stake to 99.779 million shares or 20.02 per cent of the issued capital.

The group previously acquired 6.5 million shares on June 19 at 26.9 cents each and an initial filing on June 11 of 83.409 million shares via off-market trade at 25 cents each, which raised its interest to 18.57 per cent.

Overall, Global Yellow Pages' stake is up by 7.2 million shares or 8 per cent since that initial filing on June 11.

Shareholder Goi Seng Hui purchased 2.1 million shares (0.42 per cent) on March 13 (direct interest) at 22.5 cents each (IPO price was 22 cents), his first trade since the stock's listing in October 2010. He also has deemed interest of 82.187 million shares (16.49 per cent).
