FOOD EMPIRE HOLDINGS operates factories in various parts of the world, including Malaysia, India, Ukraine and Russia.

The maker of 3-in-1 coffee has just officially opened a prized asset in its home country of Singapore on Feb 22. It's an auspicious day -- Chap Goh Meh (15th day of ther Chinese New Year).

The company spent another $7.5 million to construct an extension of its HQ, which is in the fast-growing Tai Seng area.

The property is for rental and already tenants have moved in, including ST Synthesis, which is part of the ST Engineering group. It has taken up five floors of the 11-floor building.

Oceanus, a SGX-listed abalone-producer, is also occupying an office unit there, having shifted from Robinson Road.

Though classified as an industrial building, it was designed with more than a touch of aesthetics. It has open-air terraces located across several floors, providing tenants additional al fresco and discussion spaces.

And, best of all for the company, the capital value of the building has appreciated substantially in the past five years.
