A COUPLE came with their son who is serving national service and obviously getting a fantastic headstart in investing.
An unexpected attendee was an ex-CFO of a listed company, who now manages his family funds full-time. He came to hone his trading skills.
And then there was an attractive lady remisier from Kim Eng Securiites who has Chartered Public Accountant qualification.
They were among 36 NextInsight readers who paid $150 each to attend a four-hour workshop yesterday by Charlie Lau, 67, a veteran stockbroker, on how to trade profitably in the stock market.
They learnt more than just the technical behavior patterns of stock prices.
They also gathered insights into the people psychology that sometimes drives a big part of the market, and entraps unsuspecting investors into buying at high prices or selling at the bottom of a price trend.

At the end of it all, Charlie told NextInsight he was impressed with the participants as they asked many good questions and were, in that respect, different from the audience at some workshops that he had conducted in the past.
