Just 2 weeks ago, Koon was 31 cents. Now 25 ..... should be moving up to 31 again after the PM's National Day rally. Said whopping 25K HDB flats to b built this year and 25K next yr. All the flats will requires lots of precast structures from Koon. Just wait for contract announcements.... there shld be plenty coming.

Half-year result to be announced on Friday, Aug 26.

Current share statistics.

Share price 25 cts
PE = 3.1
Interim & final dividend 2010 = 1 + 1 cent a share.
Dividend yield = 8%

Cash $21.5 million or 13.73 cts per share.
So PE ex-cash = 1.4

(Long term loan is merely $1.4 million)

Defensive & resilient industry -- the US credit woes won't affect Koon .

Construction order book is S$90.4 million.
Outstanding precast order book stands at S$53.2 million

Why not rising? Still at 24 cents.

Koon is a dividend yield play....Koon has to dish out at least 1 cent dividend on Friday.

Hi,
Just feel that it's very strange that investors are not going for resilient construction stocks like Koon and Wee Hur now, in view of the market volatility, and not to mention they pay good dividends as well. Koon is like non-existent these few days,
Or is something brewing?

The results appear to be disappointing as its profit from operations was yikes. There were start-up costs from the pre-cast division that took a bite out of the net profit.

Net profit attributable to shareholders rose 4.8% to S$6.3 million only because of one-off gains.

These are from the disposal of leasehold property and dividend income received from Koon Zinkcon of S$5.6 million and S$3.0 million respectively.

Koon Zinkcon is the Group’s 50% joint venture with Boskalis International (S) Pte Ltd, a
major international dredging and offshore engineering firm.

However, the future quarters look promising. The orderbook for the pre-cast and construction divisions are solid.

Order book of the Construction division has jumped 45% with the latest $40 million contract win for job in Tampines landfill.

Currently orderbook has ballooned to S$128.3 million. Resilient business -- anyone likes it?
