AT THE signing ceremony of two important agreements for SGX-listed Dukang Distillers, delegates heard the best in traditional Chinese music and learnt how baijiu contributes to China’s business culture.
Drinking baijiu creates a relaxing social atmosphere.
Indeed, baijiu is an indispensable beverage on dinner tables at business and official functions in China.
Immediately following the endorsement of the “Dukang” brand of baijiu as one of the appointed baijiu for China's government to serve foreign dignitaries, the leading producer of baijiu in Henan embarked on a Baijiu Cultural World Tour to help Asian cultures outside China appreciate this fine beverage.
It kicked off the campaign with a grand one-day event in Singapore at Swissotel Stamford Hotel on Monday, 22 April.
"Promoting baijiu outside China is not merely a commercial decision for Dukang. We are also fulfilling our corporate social responsibility in public education," said CEO Zhou Tao at the event.
The first: the tripartite agreement involving the Henan Provincial Alcoholic Beverages Industry Association, the Chinese Baijiu Association (Singapore) and the Group on the strategic partnership to promote the “Dukang” brand baijiu in Singapore and other parts of Asia.
This was witnessed by delegates who are foreign affairs officials from Beijing and Henan as well as from the Chinese Embassy in Singapore.
The second ceremony was the signing of a letter of intent between Dukang Distillers and a leading baijiu distributor in Singapore, Oasis Global, for the distributorship of the “Dukang” brand of baijiu.
Oasis Global is Singapore’s sole distributor of top-tier baijiu brands such as Kweichow Moutai and has a vast network baijiu distribution channels in Southast Asia.
Delegates learnt the steeped traditions of baijiu and tasted Dukang's iconic beverage, Jiuzu Dukang.
"We hope our joint efforts with Oasis Global will make Dukang a household name," said Charles Oon, the founder and president of Chinese Baijiu Association (Singapore).
The local leg of the Baijiu Cultural World Tour was co-hosted by Chinese Baijiu Association (Singapore).
