STAMFORD TYRES took part as an exhibitor in Tyrexpo Asia 2013 last month -- an event held at the Singapore Expo and attended by trade visitors from 97 countries.
The guest of honour, Dr Stephen Evans, secretary-general of the International Rubber Study Group, forecasted a "decade of opportunity" for tyre makers and service providers.
"Much of the demand will originate from China and, to a lesser extent, India but from an overall perspective the years through to 2022 will be a period of opportunity for tyre makers and the replacement and service sectors," he said in a speech.
It has product development capabilities and proprietary brands -- the Sumo range of tyres and SSW light alloy wheels, which are sold globally.
In the picture spread on this page, Stamford Tyres plays good host to its overseas and local business associates at a dinner, in conjuction with the Tyrexpo Asia event, at the sprawling home of Wee Kok Wah (President of Stamford Tyres) and his wife, Dawn. 
SSW (Stamford Sports Wheels) produces sports rims in Thailand. SSW had a booth at the Tyrexpo held from 19 to 21 March.
