Guangdong reports foot-and-mouth disease outbreak A total of 8,382 pigs have been culled after a foot-and-mouth disease outbreak in south China\'s Guangdong Province, a local animal husbandry and veterinary official said Monday. The National Foot-and-Mouth Disease Reference Laboratory confirmed the outbreak Monday, said Yu Yedong, deputy director of Guangdong Provincial Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau. A suspected foot-and-mouth outbreak, involving 1,474 pigs, was reported in Huangjinwei in Baiyun District in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong, on Feb. 22. The outbreak led to the culling of all 8,382 pigs in Huangjinwei, including the affected 1,474, Yu said. The province reported no further foot-and-mouth disease outbreaks. Biwei Antai is in the midst of completing its first batch production of the animal hand-footand- mouth disease vaccine and will submit its products to MOA for evaluation thereafter.

Disease is always an issue for farmers. Better to be the seller of vaccines! :laugh: Anyway, China Animal Healthcare isnt going to get a short-term boost. This sort of news is good for newspapers, but ....

It\'s good to consider analysts\' reports. But buy it for the potential catalysts over these 2 months - sales bidding exercise for two of its vaccines which starting in Feb 2010 and approval for its HMFD vaccine in March. Share price is running up probably in anticipation of these events. Recall that its recent high was 30cts in January. It probably will be too far-fetched to think that this will turn out to be a multi-bagger like SinoVac.

Stock is enjoying very high volume - now 8.3 million in the first 15 minutes of trading this morning. KevinScully\'s target price is 35 cents, just a bit more from the 31-c level now.
