NOL -- container shipping business not very different from airline business. V hard to make money. 3Q15 core earnings in the red to the tune of S$95.6m. !!!
U can only try to increase operational efficiency and then you find even that is tough going. Somehow low fuel prices have not helped, unlike for airlines.
It's simply a challenging outlook ahead.

Temasek Holdings (Private) Limited), have entered into an exclusivity agreement with CMA CGM S.A.
(“CMA CGM”) with respect to a potential acquisition of NOL by way of pre-conditional voluntary general
offer (“Offer”).
Pursuant to the agreement, NOL and Lentor have granted CMA CGM exclusivity until 11.59 p.m.
(Singapore time) on 7 December 2015 to complete customary confirmatory due diligence on NOL and its subsidiaries and negotiate the definitive agreements to be entered into in relation to the Offer.
