With January barely 2 months away and many people would soon be asking again the question – Would there be a New Year Rally this time? Anyone has a good intelligent answer?
As in the past, those who can answer correctly deserve a big Ang Pow, regardless of going long or short.

I did a study many years back n it shows that the sg index has consistently been higher in end feb than in end oct the previous. For many years i used to enter the market around oct/nov n exit in feb/mar the following. It works me. But can never be sure where the market will go. Regards n all the best!

There are so many cheap stocks around, regardless of whether there is a New Yr rally.

Look out for Jaya's refinancing (soon, I guess).
Look out for Eratat Lifestyle (solid 4Q expected + full year 2013 should be solid).

Lion Teck Chiang -- why nobody talks about this ?

Hi Guest,
Don't think this was the case in February 2009 was it?

Don't ever dream of 2009 Feb. 2009 Feb  was already bottom after the financial crisis. Now market is not cheap and not expensive.

Oberver2 - I think it depends. Obama is likely to win tomorrow and Asia should spike for few days. If the rally continues until end yr, then unlikely will rally in Jan., otherwise good chance to rally as earnings are still ok though Blues are getting expensive.  Don’t forget geopolitical events such as Israel GE early next yr and if there will be a strike against Iran after that? But I am optimistic that there will be no crash next yr. Will keep my fingers crossed. My views only.
