Singapore's contribution to, and involvement in, China's development continues with the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (SSGKC) .

The SSGKC project (photo) was jointly initiated by leaders from Guangdong and Singapore with a ground-breaking ceremony in 2010.




The Big Picture 2: In mid-Jan 2019, CapitaLand announced its plan to acquire Ascendas-Singbridge in a deal valued at $11 billion, including debt.

If approved at an upcoming EGM, the deal will see CapitaLand become the ninth largest real estate investment manager globally, up from its current 14th place.

 

12 Feb 2019 event: An entity of the Ascendas-Singbridge group signed a strategic collaboration agreement with Singapore Chinese High School (SCHS) and the latter's newly set-up wholly-owned subsidiary, TCHS International (2018) Pte Ltd.

Leveraging on its contacts and resources, Singbridge Investment and Development Consultancy (Guangzhou) will facilitate the
establishment of
an international school (the GZ International School) in the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City.

The GZ International School will be a collaboration between SCHS (through TCH International) and a reputable PRC private school (the Local PRC School).

The international school will provide a program of education from pre-school all the way to the International Baccalaureate diploma qualification.

The Local PRC School will provide the compulsory 9 years local educational curricula required under PRC laws.

Singbridge Investment and Development Consultancy (Guangzhou) is a JV between Ascendas-Singbridge Group (ASBG) and Guangzhou Development District Administrative Committee

Singapore Chinese High School owns and manages "Hwa Chong Institution" (HCI) and "Hwa Chong International School" (HCIS) (collectively referred to as the "SCHS Schools").

Among other things, SCHS through TCHS will provide management services to the school, including providing the SCHS's bilingual and bicultural curricula, management systems, teachers and staff training and programs standards and designs and examinations requirements in respect of the International Baccalaureate diploma qualification.


TCHS will also facilitate regular visits by teachers and students from the PRC International School to the SCHS Schools for educational exchanges, cross learning and enrichment programs. 

Ditto, visits by teachers and students from the SCHS Schools to the PRC International School.
