O' My Darling will appear at the National Day Parade rehearsals to feed participants.

OLD CHANG KEE is turning ‘green’.

The cooking oil it uses to cook its signature curry puffs and other offerings has an environmentally-friendly use now: it is converted into biodiesel to fuel its new mobile kitchen.

In this effort, Old Chang Kee is partnering Singapore
biofuel processing and consulting company Alpha Synovate (www.alphasynovate.com).

Old Chang Kee unveiled its 10-metre long mobile kitchen named
O’ My Darling. It has the same capabilities as any of the other 60-odd Old Chang Kee outlets located across Singapore.

It is scheduled to appear at this year’s National Day Parade rehearsals, where Old Chang Kee has offered to sponsor snacks for NDP participants.

O’ My Darling will also grace the opening launch of the Singapore Food Festival at Lau Pa Sat early next month.

You may say that O’ My Darling harks back to Old Chang Kee’s heritage.

“When we started back in the 1950s, Old Chang Kee was just one push-cart stall. We brought our curry puffs to customers and connected with them at a very intimate level,” said Mr William Lim, CEO of Old Chang Kee.

“I think of O’ My Darling as a modern push-cart that allows us to continue to reach out to our customers and build a relationship with them.”

Old Chang Kee's shares were listed on the Singapore Exchange in January this year.
