 It is widely known in the industry that suppliers of Apple are highly sensitive to news linking them to Apple for fear that it may not go down well with Apple, currently the largest and most-watched company in world. We understand that several of Apple’s suppliers were cut-off in the past due to information leaks or using their connection to raise funds.

 While Hi-P’s list of existing and new customers include Research In Motion, Apple, Amazon,
Nike, P&G, Colgate, Seagate and Motorola, Apple is the best performing as well as having the best prospects amongst them and this understandably would be the best answer for analysts to link the company’s huge investments this year as well as next of close to $500mln to increase their production capacity by 60-70%.

 We maintain our BUY recommendation on Hi-P.

Hi-P is now on the brink of a major partnership with Apple. Very big milestone....

On good days, the vol is strong and pushes up the stock price. Clearly, this is fund buying.
On slow days, thin vol encourages retail investors to take profit and a bit of selling pushes the price down by 1,2,3 cents as like now. It is at 89 cents. The fund buying is for the mid term, when Hi-P is ramping up its prodn for Apple and the results will be showing in due course. Stay the course!

Hi-P is under strong accumulation as it has hit 95 cents just now. Makes my afternoon nice and cool even though my boss is a terror. Hahahaa....

I read that production of the next iPhone has begun -- should be in order for it to be released by October/November during the holiday season.  This is Hi-P's success story as it too counts Apple as a major customer.

Something worth nothing is Hi-P is also transforming into an ODM player.

On current news flow and near-term expectations... I think a target of $1.15 is achievable in the months ahead.

Hi-P is making a roaring comeback with a + 7 cent jump to 92.5 cents.  I am looking to sell out at S$1.00 . Wish me luck!

Profit taking obviously, today as the stock went down 5.5 c to 85 cents. I expect it to trade sideways for quite a while more, with a downward bias. 

I have a lesson to share. Remember the strike by 200 hi-P workers in China in early Dec 2011? The protests made news but it was largely irrelevant to the stock price. The stock got hammered anyway to around 60 cents and lower. What matters is the outlook for the business. In that respect, Hi-P has a fantastic outlook when the new iPhone and iPad are launched in the next couple of months. Just don't overpay for the shares. At 90.5 cents, it seems a bit high

The market is optimistic -- and pushed the stock to 88 cents now. I agree with you though. Show me the profit first.

I think the stock is fairly priced now at 84 cents. Until the 3Q result vindicates the management's confidence, the stock won't really have a good chance to cross 90 cents. If 3Q is really good, the stock will fly .

Trading has quietened this morning but stable at 85 cents. Hmmm.... are the buyers holding for the big profit that Hi-P will capture from Apple?

Hi-P does sound very sure of its second half 2012 performance, despite the fall in RIM business. Apple must be taking up the slack in a very big way. Stock price is 84 cents. Wonder where it will end today

My goodness , Hi-P on a tear +5.5 cents to hit 79 cents currently.
