Trojan, it does seem that the macro environment is positive. However, REAG is not going to be cashflow positive and able to declare dividends for quite some time more.

REAG's joint venture partner, Datang Renewable Power, rebounded nearly 5% today on high volume. Hopefully REAG and other companies in the renewable energy industry can start to move positively in tandem too. http://sg.finance.yahoo.com/q?s=1798.HK

There are actually many comparables for REA in Hong Kong. China Longyuen is the largest player in the wind farm sector.

If you read their reports, you can find that even the largest player has acknowledged that this is a long winter. The earliest date of sector recovery is probably 2Q 2013.

Hence REA must have enough money to last this winter.

I am studying some solar companies at the moment. Always asking myself if these companies can survive this long industry consolidation.

This is the time for you to study the industry and the businesses. Not the right time to buy yet.

Certainly the business potential is there for REA but the cash-flow is a challenge currently. It depends on yr risk appetite as an investor. This stock may b too 'exciting' / risky for some investors ( who prefer more stable businesses )

It's good to have a wealthy Executive Chairman and controlling shareholder.

Mr Xu Jian has agreed to provide a loan of up to RMB100,000,000 to the Company to meet the capital expenditure and working capital requirements of the Company and/or its subsidiaries. Pursuant to the terms of the Loan Agreement, the Company may drawdown the Loan in tranches of at least RMB10,000,000 from the date of the Loan Agreement until 30th June 2013.
The Loan is interest free and repayable at such time and date as determined at the sole and
absolute discretion of the Company.

A NextInsight reader asked if we are going to the AGM tomorrow.

"Check it out to see if it is a turnaround story. After all, renewable energy is the next big thing."

Ok, we will drop by to see the China-based CEO.....

You have any questions for us to try to ask?

One more point, many windfarms are not CDM-approved. This means that they cannot receive subsidies from the UN carbon trading program.

Guys, You might want to study the windpower business first before commenting on this company\'s prospects. To me, this Company is going from bad to worse. Originally a manufacturer of screws for companies like Innovalues. Now they are heading for self destruction by going into a sector which they have zero experience and no competitive advantage. In brief, whether a windpower company will make money or not, is not determine by how big the wind farm is. It is determine by whether the Company has received license from the local govt to link up to the national grid. I know of several wind farms in China who are already setup but they are not linked to the national grid and have zero income. Good luck to them but I will be avoiding this stock with a 10m pole.

Renewable Energy Asia Group has made further inroads into the PRC wind energy business, by securing a concession to develop a Green Energy Park in Zhenglanqi, Inner Mongolia. REA Group will spearhead the formation of a consortium to construct a wind farm of up to 250 megawatts (MW) in capacity within the Green Energy Park. Green Energy Park is expected to be completed in five years. next billion dollar company??
